One of Newtown's well-loved pizza parlours has permanently shut its doors.
After nine years in business, 7 Pizza Parlour served its last slice at the Severn Street location last weekend.
Owner Andy Meek expressed his gratitude to loyal customers and staff who have supported the establishment throughout its successful journey.
Despite the closure, Andy plans to continue showcasing his award-winning pizza-making skills with his new venture, Amore Pizza.
In May, he will bring his wood-fired pizzas to weddings, parties, and festivals, including the Newtown Food Festival in September, with a classic Peugeot J9 van.
The closure of the pizza parlour was influenced by a 50% decrease in business, which was partly attributed to the opening of a nearby Dominos.
Sadly, the property's landlord refused to lease the space to anyone else, leaving Andy unable to sell the business.
While saddened by the decision to close, Andy is excited about the opportunities that his new venture brings.
