More jobs and tourism spend once the Montgomery Canal is reconnected to the national network, a meeting in Newtown has been told.

Plans are underway to reconnect the canal to the main UK network and that includes the section from Welshpool. But a feasibility study will take place to look at Newtown and the canal near the town can be reconnected to Welshpool in the future.
