A 19-year-old parcel delivery driver, Kacper Napierala, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on March 21, where he admitted to possessing 0.5 grams of cocaine, a Class A drug.
The drug was found in a snap bag in his pocket after he briefly ran away from plain-clothed police officers who approached a group of youths in town on January 21.
Napierala was arrested at around 11:30 pm in the St Mary’s Close area of town.
During the hearing, prosecutor Helen Tench informed the court that Napierala was previously given conditional cautions for drug possession.
Representing himself, Napierala informed the court that he had managed to quit using cocaine since the incident and was now clean and willing to take drug tests.
Magistrates ordered Napierala to pay a fine of £250, a £100 surcharge, and £85 in costs. The cocaine was also ordered to be destroyed.
