A man has been banned from driving for four years and ordered to wear an alcohol tag after crashing his Audi into a lamppost near Newtown and driving off without reporting it to the police.
Ben Hamer, 26, was taken to the cells in Newtown after an initial breath test found that he was almost three times the drink drive limit and a drugs wipe of his car tested positive for cocaine. He later refused to give blood or breath samples as evidence, and told police "you're boring me". However Hamer claimed he drank more alcohol after crashing the car.
