About this event

It’s 1934 – and the SS American is weighing anchor for an eventful crossing from New York to England. With a passenger list that includes: Reno Sweeney (“New York’s most notorious evangelist”); Moonface Martin (“Public Enemy number 13”), with gangster’s moll Erma; Hope Harcourt the débutante, her mother Evangeline, and her fiancé Lord Evelyn Oakleigh; and rich tycoon Elisha Whitney, we are in for an interesting voyage. Add to the mix our hero - stowaway Billy Crocker (in love with Hope), two pickpocket gamblers, a comic quartet of sailors, Reno’s “Fallen Angels”, one neurotic Purser, a desperate Captain, and a whole array of colourful characters young and old (not forgetting the dog!), and a hilarious time is guaranteed!

Featuring some of Cole Porter’s best loved songs (You’re the Top, It’s De-lovely, Friendship, Blow Gabriel, I Get a Kick Out of You), and a plot devised by PG Wodehouse, this all-singing, all-dancing, feel-good show might be crazy but it sure has class!
