Getting around Newtown is easier than ever with a wide array of different transport modes. Check out our timetables, contacts and routes for each one below.


  Cycle

Newtown is situated on National Cycle Route 81 which runs through the town. Route 81 runs from Aberystwyth to Wolverhampton, with the section running through Wales called Lôn Cambria. The route can be shown on the map below.

In addition, Newtown is very lucky to have a bike repair station situated in our green spaces. The location of this can be seen on the map below.

  Walk

Newtown is an amazing place for a walk - around the town centre, through the green spaces or a hike in the hills.

There is an active group called Walking Newtown who develop and maintain a range of walks around the town.

  Bus

Newtown is connected to the national bus network via the Newtown Bus Station, situated in Back Lane.

The T4 service allows visitors to travel to South Powys, whilst services 86A, B and C all allow travel around the town.

  Train

Newtown Railway Station sits on the Cambrian Line, a route between Birmingham and the Welsh coast. The service is operated by Transport for Wales.

You can purchase tickets from the ticket machines on the platforms.

Car parking is available for 20 cars and is free.
