Mr Jennings, who is well known to the residents of Newtown for his role as a Police Community Support Officer retired earlier this summer.

As we reported back in August, the nomination for Mr Jennings was held in confidential session and only 12 living persons can hold the title and two thirds of town councillors must vote in favour of awarding the title.
