Powys County Council has recently announced the appointment of five new members to its Corporate Leadership Team, bringing a fresh wave of expertise and leadership to the local area.

Following a recruitment campaign at the end of last year, these permanent appointments have been made to oversee and manage a range of essential services in the region. The Council has ensured that an open and rigorous recruitment process was followed to select the most suitable candidates for each role. As a result, the community can now welcome the following individuals who have been appointed to lead and steer the various portfolios:

    Firstly, Matt Perry has been appointed as the new Chief Officer - Place. Matt previously held the position of the interim Director, and his continued commitment to the role reflects his dedication to serving the people of Newtown and the surrounding areas.

    Jane Thomas is another familiar face amongst the appointments, having been selected as the Director of Corporate Services. Having served as the Council's Section 151 Officer, Jane's appointment will ensure the smooth running of essential services and the strategic management of resources within Powys County Council.

    Diane Reynolds, another interim Director, will now take on the role of Director of Economic Development and Growth. Diane's expertise in this area will be crucial to drive economic growth and create opportunities for individuals and businesses alike.

    In the field of education, Newtown residents can be confident in the appointment of Dr Richard Jones as the new Director of Education. Dr Jones will bring his valuable experience as the Headteacher at Ysgol Calon Cymru to the position, championing the growth and development of education in Powys.

    Lastly, Nina Davies has been appointed as the Director of Social Services and Wellbeing, bringing her wealth of experience as the Interim Director of Social Services.
