The Celebration of Newtown awards, which were awarded for the first time last year by former Mayor, Richard Williams are back for a second year running, with nominations now open.

The Town Council has confirmed the award categories, which include Newtown Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year and Sports Award.

A spokesperson said:

"We are delighted to have opened the nominations for our “Celebration of Newtown Awards Evening” in April 2023. The aim of the event is to celebrate and recognise those individuals, groups and organisations who have made a positive impact over the last year to Newtown and the local area."

"It will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Newtown and the achievements of individuals, businesses, groups, and organisations. It would be fantastic if you could consider any suitable nominee for the above awards and submit a nomination."

You can submit nominations online here (https://forms.office.com/e/xHsiyDjfsW) or by obtaining a copy from the Town Council Office – Brisco House, The Cross, Broad Street, Newtown. Nominations will close at 12pm midday on Wednesday 15th March 2023.
