As reported by the Powys County Times, local businesses sponsored five powder colour stations, adding a vibrant rainbow effect to the race.
Participants enjoyed a warm up Zumba session, music and entertainment, as well as face glitter, a barbecue, medal, and photo finish.
Although this is the first Colour Run event in Mid Wales, Lingen Davies has already raised over £70,000 from similar events in Shrewsbury.
Lizzy Ellis, the fundraising events lead for the charity, expressed gratitude towards the community of Newtown and Mid Wales for their overwhelming support and enthusiasm for the event. Despite the constant rain, everyone's spirits remained high throughout the day.
Due to the overwhelming response and success of the Newtown Colour Run, Lingen Davies intends to organize a similar event in the area next year. The funds raised from the event will enhance the support services available to local cancer patients.
