Councillors to consider request for public table tennis table

Town councillors are to consider a request from Powys County Council to install a table tennis table in the town park.

Town councillors as part of their monthly Services Committee meeting on 12th September 2022 at 6:30pm are set to consider a request from Powys County Council to install a table tennis table in the town park for use by the public.

In the letter to town councillors from the Powys Together Community Co-ordinator and Youth Worker for Newtown, the council explain that they have received some additional funding to encourage girls to participate in more activities.

"We received some funding to encourage girls to participate in more activities. The group has decided they would like to spend some of the funds on a table tennis table, located somewhere by the play area."
