To provide the community with a deeper understanding of the proposed upgrades and offer a platform for clarifications, Network Rail has organized a drop-in event.
This event will prove to be an invaluable opportunity for residents to view the plans firsthand and engage with members of the project team and contractors. The drop-in event is scheduled to take place at Treowen Community Hall on Wednesday, July 26th, between 3pm and 7pm. No appointment is necessary, and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.
The ambitious project will be undertaken by the appointed contractor, AmcoGiffen. To facilitate the construction process, AmcoGiffen will establish a site compound in September 2023. This compound will utilize a designated area of the car park to store essential materials and machinery required for the upgrade.
The construction team is dedicated to minimizing disruptions for the public and commuters during the development. Daytime work shifts, scheduled between 8 am and 6 pm, will be utilized for various construction activities. However, to ensure the safety of workers and passengers, some work will be carried out overnight when the railway is closed. These overnight shifts are planned from 10 pm to 6 am.
Throughout the construction period, Network Rail is committed to keeping the railway station operational and accessible to passengers. The upgrade project is projected to be completed by the summer of 2024.
Residents and railway users are encouraged to attend the drop-in event at Treowen Community Hall on July 26th, as it serves as an exceptional occasion to witness the proposed plans and engage directly with the project team and contractors.
