First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford MS popped in to Newtown today to visit the new Hafan yr Afon building

Posting on Facebook, Open Newtown announced today that First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford had visited the brand new Hafan yr Afon community and visitor centre due to open soon.

They confirmed that the new building will be in a few weeks time after furniture fit out, kitchen install and staff training.

On his visit, Mr Drakeford met with Seren, Molly and Nick who form part of the new catering and building management team.

Whilst in Newtown, the First Minister also took a tour of the new High Street and was presented a letter regarding healthcare in the area by Cllr Joy Jones.
