Hafan yr Afon caterer to shut down

Hafan yr Afon, owned and operated by Open Newtown, will say goodbye to Bubbling Stove Bistro on May 6th, 2023, after the bistro made the difficult decision to close its doors.

The café opened last year, aiming to offer a unique food offering in Newtown. Despite a well-received daily changing menu featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, the combination of rising food costs and the current financial situation made it difficult for the bistro to continue.

However, Open Newtown has clarified that the building will remain open as usual, and all existing bookings will be accommodated. While Bubbling Stove Bistro is moving on to new ventures, Open Newtown has confirmed that they will continue catering to locals and visitors alike, based on the positive feedback received.

In a post on social media, Open Newtown said:

Seren and her team have enjoyed working together to develop relationships with local suppliers and hope to continue doing so in the future. Although Bubbling Stove Bistro's time at Hafan Yr Afon is coming to an end, the bistro will forever be remembered as a beloved part of the community
