  NMTC: Footloose

Footloose is a tale of resilience, friendship, and the power of dance, unfolds in the small town of Bomont. Ren McCormack, a teenager from Chicago, and his mother move to Bomont after his father's departure. However, Ren is in for a surprise as he discovers that the town, under the influence of Reverend Shaw, has banned dancing.

The plot thickens as Ren, portrayed with charisma by a talented NMTC cast member, Adam Jones, finds himself at odds with the tight-knit community. The Reverend (played by Mike Clarke) has convinced the townsfolk to adopt a no-dancing policy, setting the stage for a clash of ideologies that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

Ren, determined to challenge the status quo, befriends Ariel (played by Katy Collins), the Reverend's spirited daughter, and Willard (played by Oliver Jones), a country boy with a heart of gold. Together, they embark on a journey to break the shackles of the dancing ban, ultimately helping the town heal from a tragic event that has left an indelible mark on their lives.

The vibrant performances, foot-tapping music, and dynamic choreography promise to transport the audience to the heart of the action. NMTC's rendition of "Footloose" is not just a theatrical experience; it's a celebration of youth, rebellion, and the universal language of dance.

Tickets are £18 and can be purchased online here.
