In a thrilling encounter in the JD Cymru Premier, Newtown faced off against Connah's Quay last night.

The game, which took place on September 24, 2024 at Essity Stadium, ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams showcasing their skills and determination on the pitch.

The home team, Connah's Quay, saw Rhys Hughes shine as he netted a goal in the 32nd minute, giving his team the lead. Hughes displayed exceptional talent and composure to find the back of the net, much to the delight of the home fans.

Newtown, the visitors, responded strongly just before the halftime whistle as Aaron Williams scored a crucial goal in the 45th minute. Williams exhibited great skill and timing to level the score, showcasing Newtown's fighting spirit throughout the match.

Despite the battle on the field, neither team could find the breakthrough in the second half, leading to a well-deserved draw between Connah's Quay and Newtown.
