A local cafe from Newtown has been nominated for the Cafe or Bistro of the Year (Mid Wales) Award

Cafe Glitz at Brisco has been nominated for a Food Awards Wales 2023 award for Cafe or Bistro of the Year in Mid Wales.

The cafe, which is located at 9 Market Street in Newtown serves fresh quality food and drink which is locally sourced and includes a lovely outside area.

It goes up finalists which include cafes or bistros in Aberstwyth, Builth Wells, Llangadfan and others. 

Running for the sixth year, The Food Awards Wales have become the annual leading celebration of the country’s food scene.

The Food Awards Wales seek to recognise the hard work and efforts of those committed to always providing the country with the freshest of products and amazing delights. They will also showcase the best restaurants, takeaways, pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros, as well as those who help us explore new flavours and cuisines from different cultures.

A prestigious event will take place this summer in Cardiff where top professionals will come together to celebrate their achievements.

Campaign Manager of The Food Awards Wales said:
