The Newtown Carnival committee is urging the public to join them at their upcoming Annual General Meeting, which will take place at The Monty Club next month.
Set to kick off at 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 19, the meeting presents an opportunity for individuals to become more acquainted with the carnival and its endeavors. Having been postponed for the fourth consecutive year earlier in 1988, the committee issued a plea for volunteers to ensure the preservation of this long-standing tradition, one that has captivated generations.

With a minimum expenditure of £4,000 required to host the event, the committee's plea highlights the need for more than 40 dedicated volunteers between the months of September and July.
Currently, the responsibilities for these various roles are divided among a mere six members, boasting a collective experience of over a century with the carnival.
