Newtown Outdoor Festival set to return in 2024

Following the tremendous success of this year's outdoor festival, plans have been revealed to host another exciting event in 2024.

The anticipated festival is expected to take place on the 1st and 2nd of June and promises to offer a wide range of thrilling activities, including walking, cycling, canoeing, archery, climbing, fishing, and running.

Attendees can also look forward to engaging in a park run, gardening, a Ceilidh, and many more exciting events.

Town Councillors as part of the Economy & Environment Committee will discuss a report by Richard Rendall, a director of the newly formed 'Newtown Outdoor Festival Ltd', expressed his optimism about the future participation of the original partners in the 2024 event.

"We have already obtained commitments from various participating groups and individuals, including dedicated walk leaders who will be managing the walks section organized by Walking Newtown," stated Mr Rendall.

He further revealed that the Newtown Twinning Association is actively collaborating with the festival organizers as they prepare to welcome visitors from Les Herbiers, the twin town situated in France.

Mr Rendall emphasized the significance of financial support from the town council to facilitate the marketing, training, and organization required for the festival's success.

The committee will discuss and consider the funding request during its meeting, ensuring that all necessary provisions are in place for the upcoming event.
