Rekindle, a mental health charity based in Newtown, is calling on supporters to participate in a monumental event to raise funds for its cause in 2025.
The charity has secured a spot in the 2025 TCS London Marathon taking place on Sunday, 27th April. This presents a unique opportunity for individuals to join thousands of others in central London for the renowned marathon.

The TCS London Marathon is a globally recognized event that attracts participants from around the world. In 2024, over 53,700 individuals completed the challenging 26.2-mile course, with many more taking part virtually. This iconic marathon is not only about the physical challenge but also serves as a significant fundraising platform, with participants collectively raising over £1 billion for charitable causes since its inception in 1981.
Jodie Hughes, Lead Counsellor and Development Officer at Rekindle, expressed her excitement about the charity's participation in the upcoming marathon. She said:

"After being lucky enough to personally participate in the 2024 TCS London Marathon, I can wholehearted say it was one of the craziest but most memorable experiences of my life and as a self-confessed ‘non-runner’ urge anyone thinking of giving it a go to do just that".
Support Rekindle's Cause
Supporters interested in representing Rekindle in the marathon are required to pledge to raise £2,000 for the charity.
The application deadline for the marathon place is 14th October 2024. To apply, individuals can fill out the online form here or contact Rekindle directly for an application form.
Rekindle focuses on providing support, counselling, and activities for young people aged 16 to 25 in Mid Wales and the Shropshire Borders. Their services aim to enhance the wellbeing and mental health of youths, offering personalized support to address challenges impacting their mental health and overall wellbeing.
