Our local art gallery, Oriel Davies will be closing from mid-September until Spring 2025 as part of a £1m refurbishment.
The gallery is set to recieve almost £1m from the Arts Council of Wales to improve the gallery's infrastructure, security, environmental controls and replace the aging roof.

The gallery is also set to become a partner in the National Contemporary Art Gallery for Wales which is a network of nine galleries across Wales and will hold collections of contemporary art held by Amgueddfa Cymru and the National Library of Wales belong to everyone in Wales.
Announcing the news, the gallery said:
"This investment will enable us to bring works from the National Collections to Newtown to display alongside contemporary visual art."
