In a thrilling showdown at the Cyncoed Campus, Newtown AFC emerged triumphant against Cardiff Met in their final league match of the season on Saturday, April 21st.

The match showcased the resilience and skill of both teams, but ultimately it was Newtown who secured a convincing 3-1 victory over their opponents.

The game began with an early lead for Newtown, as Dominic Smith found the back of the net in the 14th minute, setting the tone for the match. Aaron Williams swiftly followed up with another goal just six minutes later, extending Newtown's lead and putting Cardiff Met on the back foot.

Despite facing an uphill battle, Cardiff Met showed determination and tenacity, with Sam Jones managing to pull one back for the home side in the 70th minute, injecting a sense of hope into the game for the home supporters.

However, Newtown remained unfazed and continued to press forward, with Callum Roberts sealing the deal with a goal in the 52nd minute, further solidifying Newtown's dominance on the field.

With a final score of 3-1 in favor of Newtown, the team demonstrated their prowess and determination, finishing the league in 4th place.
