The news has sparked excitement among fans, who fondly remember Oswell's previous stint with the club.

Oswell first joined the robins in the summer of 2014, having previously played for fellow Cymru Premier League club Airbus. During his initial tenure at Newtown AFC, Oswell played a pivotal role in the team's journey towards European qualification in 2015. He showcased his talent on the continental stage by scoring in both legs against Maltese club Valetta during the Europa League campaign that summer.

Over the course of three seasons at Latham Park, Oswell became a prolific goal-scorer, netting an impressive 50 goals. His outstanding performances did not go unnoticed, and he earned a well-deserved move to Stockport County, a historic football club with a strong legacy. Oswell's impact continued at Stockport, as he notched 25 goals in a single season and was awarded the coveted Player of the Season accolade. This success propelled him into the football league with Morecambe FC, followed by moves to Wrexham and, most recently, Telford United, where he maintained his remarkable goal-scoring form.

The return of Jason Oswell to Newtown AFC has generated great anticipation among supporters. Manager Chris Hughes said:

"We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Jase back.  All of the supporters will remember what Jason did in his three seasons with us and we’re excited to seeing him reunite with Aaron Williams to form what we hope will be a prolific partnership.  Jason will also allow us to be a little bit more flexible with both our tactical setup and style of play.  Welcome back Jase.”

Jason said:

"I’m delighted to be back.  Once I’d deicided to leave Telford there was only one club that I wanted to play for.  I can’t wait for the season to start."
