Councillor McNicholas has been a Cabinet member since May 2022 and represents the Ynyscedwyn ward, but she is now stepping down from health reasons.

Welsh Labour Party member Councillor Sandra Davies will take on full Cabinet responsibilities on a full-time basis in Councillor McNicholas' absence.

Cllr McNicholas said:

"Serving on the Cabinet has been an honour and I strongly believe that as a Cabinet we have already made a positive impact on the lives of residents and businesses in Powys,"

"I have valued my time on the Cabinet, and I wish my cabinet colleagues well for the future. I will continue as the County Councillor representing Ynyscedwyn Ward."

The Leader, Councillor James Gibson-Watt thanked Councillor McNicholas for her hard work and contributions to the cabinet during the first 12-months of the new Cabinet's life.

"During her time on the Cabinet Susan has shown integrity, loyalty and passion for her role and I wish her well in the future," he said.
