After the surprise announcement yesterday from the Prime Minister, who are the candidates in our newly expanded constituency trying to get your vote?

As you may be aware, our constituency of Montgomeryshire has been expanded to include areas of the former Clwyd South to form a new constituency named Montgomeryshire & Glyndwr.

    At present, six candidates have made themselves known for the upcoming election, scheduled for the 4th July 2024. The official candidates list is due out in a few weeks time.

    The candidates in the running at the moment (in alphabetical order by surname) are:

    • Jeremy Brignell-Thorp (Green Party)
    • Oliver Lewis (Reform UK)
    • Glyn Preston (Liberal Democrat)
    • Elwyn Vaughan (Plaid Cymru)
    • Craig Williams (Conservative)
    • Steve Witherden (Labour)

    We will bring you updates from each of the candidates as we progress through the election period, ensuring that all six have a chance to let you know why they should be elected.
