As we reported last week, Powys County Council is ploughing ahead with it's Car Parking Review Group, but who is a member?

Last week we reported that Powys County Council had setup it's cross-party Car Park Review group, which will examine car parking charges, overall car park management, the vitality of town centers, active travel schemes, available resources, and the needs of the local communities within the region.

Scheduled to kick off on Thursday, October 26, the car park review marks a significant turning point in addressing the long-standing concerns surrounding parking facilities across Powys.

In the statement announcing the review, the County Council said that the review group would be "polically balanced" and include "representatives from town councils and local businesses where car parks are sited".

As the car park review group is not a formal committee and there is no way to view it's meetings and membership. However we've managed to obtain a list of members:

  • Councillor Jackie Charlton (Welsh Liberal Democrats) - Transport portfolio cabinet member
  • Councillor David Selby (Welsh Liberal Democrats) - Economic development portfolio cabinet member
  • Councillor Adam Kennerley (Welsh Liberal Democrats)
  • Councillor Angela Davies (Welsh Liberal Democrats)
  • Councillor Kelly Healy (Welsh Liberal Democrats)
  • Councillor Huw Williams (Welsh Labour)
  • Councillor Susan McNicholas (Welsh Labour)

  • Hay Town Council
  • Talgarth Town Council
  • Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council
  • Crickhowell Business Association

The review group is set to be led by an "independent and impartial consultant", however the County Council could not confirm who this would be as the final details are "still to be confirmed".
