Kicking off the weekend is the first amateur boxing show in Newtown in over a decade. 14 talented local fighters will be facing off against opponents of similar calibre.

Date: Friday 19th May at 7pm
Then into Saturday, the 2023 Montgomery Canal Triathlon - one of the biggest events to take place on or near the canal. The Triathlon is organised by the Friends of the Montgomery Canal and is supported by the Canal & River Trust in aid of the restoration of the Montgomery Canal. It is one of the most popular cross border events, starting in Newtown in Wales and ending in Shropshire.
This is a great day out for families with children as well as experienced triathletes. All entrants who complete a section will receive a commemorative medallion made from local slate.

Date: Saturday 20th May at 9:30am
Then rounding it off on Sunday where the inaugural Newtown 10k brings together an active community of people taking part in sporting events for reasons ranging from fitness, competition, charity, health, fun or to simply finish. The participants vary from nervous first-timers of all ages through to competitive runners.
