Looking ahead, subscriptions for the 2025 garden waste collection service will open in January next year, with the service set to resume in early March 2025.
Cllr Jackie Charlton, Cabinet Member for a Greener Powys, emphasized the importance of utilizing the remaining collections, stating, "Many of us are tidying up our gardens after the summer and getting things prepared for spring. We are keen to remind our residents to make the most of the last few remaining garden waste collections of 2024."
Charlton further highlighted the community's efforts, mentioning, "So far this year, with the help of participating households, thousands of tonnes of garden waste have been collected and recycled into compost."
As the collection rate decreases heading into winter, Charlton suggested sustainable alternatives, saying, "While the service does take a break over the winter, you can still recycle your garden waste by composting it at home or by taking it to one of the household waste and recycling centres in Powys."
