A planning application has been submitted for a rear and side extension to the property in Brynwood Drive.

The proposal, submitted on 26th November, seeks to enhance the accessibility and functionality of the dwelling, which was recently purchased by Mr. Ron Dutton.

The application, prepared by Hughes’ Architects, outlines plans for a modest side and rear extension, alongside internal reconfigurations and a garage extension.

These adjustments aim to transform the existing property into a home that meets Mr. Dutton’s accessibility needs while providing additional space for a landscaped garden and a workshop area behind the garage.

In the cover letter accompanying the application, it is noted that Mr. Dutton decided to relocate from his current home near Abermule to a more accessible property.

The proposed alterations are described as minor and consistent with similar extensions seen in neighboring properties on Brynwood Drive.

The design considers the character and context of the surrounding area to ensure the modifications align harmoniously with the local environment.

By making these improvements, the property will not only serve the specific needs of the applicant but also contribute positively to the neighborhood’s aesthetic and functional landscape.

Town councillors discussed the application at their meeting on the 2nd December and supported the application. However the final decision will be made by Powys County Council at either their Planning Committee or delegated to officers.

The application can be viewed online here - you can also use this link to provide comments to the County Council.
