Just as it seemed the half would end goalless, Aberystwyth’s David Evans broke the deadlock with a well-timed goal in stoppage time, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break.

However, the second half belonged entirely to Newtown. Jason Oswell equalized for the home side in the 50th minute, sparking a surge in momentum.

Callum Roberts then put Newtown ahead in the 68th minute with a superb strike.

Just two minutes later, Oswell scored his second of the night, further extending Newtown's lead.

Josh Lock capped off a brilliant second-half performance with a goal in the 77th minute, sealing a comprehensive 4-1 victory for Newtown.

The match, witnessed by a crowd of 580 enthusiastic fans, saw Newtown move to the top of the league standings with their impressive win.

They will look to build on this strong start when they face Penybont on 16th August.
