Nick Evans, the owner of EvaBuild construction, has been appointed Chairman of Newtown AFC following its AGM held last night. The change in leadership signifies an exciting new phase for the club as it looks to build upon past achievements and chart a course toward an even brighter future.

Howard Ellis completes a successful five-year tenure as Chairman, during which he steered the club through challenging times, including the recent Covid-19 pandemic. Despite these difficulties, Newtown AFC achieved remarkable success on the pitch, securing consecutive Europa Conference appearances and a commendable third-place finish in 2021. Additionally, the club's junior academy recently attained Category A status.

As Chairman, Nick Evans will assume the responsibility of overseeing the club's operations, setting strategic direction, and ensuring the fulfillment of its mission to foster excellence both on and off the field. Known for his commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive culture, Evans is poised to inspire players, staff, and fans alike.

Nick said:

"I am honored to take on the role of Chairman at Newtown AFC,

"This club has a rich history and a dedicated and growing fan base, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to its continued success. I firmly believe that by working together with the community and local stakeholders, we can achieve great things and further cement Newtown AFC's position in the top tier of Welsh football."

Nick Evans joins Newtown AFC at a time of immense potential. With recent advancements in infrastructure and academy development, combined with a passionate community of supporters, the club is primed to make significant strides toward its long-term vision. Under Evans' leadership, Newtown AFC will aim to solidify its position within the league, strengthen its commercial partnerships, and remain an integral part of the local community.

Outgoing Chairman, Howard Ellis, expressed his confidence in Nick Evans' ability to lead the club to new heights.

"It has been a privilege to serve as Chairman of Newtown AFC," said Ellis. "I have no doubt that Nick's expertise and dedication will propel the club toward great achievements. I wish him all the best in his new role and look forward to seeing Newtown AFC flourish under his guidance."
