A new heritage plaque was unveiled at Newtown Station on at the weekend by the Newtown Local History Group in association with Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council.
The plaque aims to commemorate the 165th anniversary of the official opening of the Llanidloes & Newtown Railway on August 31, 1859, which later merged into the Cambrian Railway we know today.
