The amber warning, which covers areas above Newtown and extends into North Wales and North West Shropshire, is expected to bring heavy snowfall and icy conditions. As a result, rural communities may face the possibility of being cut off.
Meanwhile, the yellow warning specifically encompasses the town and is set to come into effect from 6 am on Thursday, lasting until 6 am on Friday.
Local residents have been advised to prepare for these mixed weather conditions, which could make driving hazardous during the early morning commute. Authorities are urging people to exercise caution and only venture out if absolutely necessary, especially if conditions deteriorate.
In addition, emergency services are prepared to respond promptly to any incidents or calls for assistance. Local authorities remind everyone to stay updated with the latest weather reports and follow official guidance and instructions.
If travel is inevitable, drivers are advised to take extra precautions and allow extra time for their journey.
