Powys County Council is urging you to have your say on the Replacement Local Development Plan that will guide future development in the county.

This plan, which will cover all of Powys excluding the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, aims to set out the council's proposals and land-use policies for the next 15 years, up until 2037.

To ensure that residents' voices are heard, the council has prepared a document that identifies key issues and drivers for change, as well as a proposed draft vision and objectives for the plan.

The council is now inviting feedback from all interested parties, including residents, landowners, developers, businesses, organizations, local groups, and community councils.

The aim is to gather opinions on whether the document accurately captures the relevant issues to development planning in Powys and whether the vision and objectives are suitable.

Cllr Jake Berriman, Cabinet Member for a Connected Powys, encourages residents to engage in the process, stating,

"This document, which sets out the key issues, the proposed vision and objectives for the future development plan for Powys, provides all interested parties a timely opportunity to have their say and influence sound planning outcomes at an early stage."

Copies of the documents and forms to submit comments are also available at various local libraries in the region, including Newtown. However, residents are advised to contact the library beforehand to schedule an appointment to view the consultation document. The deadline for submitting responses is Sunday, January 28th.
