The motion proposes to donate the remainding funds within the Council's D-Day Commemorations budget to the Royal British Legion.
According to the motion paperwork, the budget currently has an underspend of £185, which would reserve to the Council's reserves at the end of the financial year.
Cllr Lewis is proposing that instead of returning to reserves, that the underspend be donated to the Royal British Legion.
According to Cllr Lewis, the RBL "works hard to provide support to our armed forces and their families but most notably to those that are the most vulnerable in society".
The original budget for the D-Day celebration event was £3000 and was held in June.
The motion paperwork is accompanied by a legal explination by the Town Clerk who explains that the decision to donate would be within the powers of the town council.
If town councillors agree with the idea then it would be passed to Full Council in September to make the final decision.
