Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is leading the charge in organizing Tidy Newtown Week, a community-wide effort to clean up the streets and areas of our beloved town.

Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is leading the charge in organizing Tidy Newtown Week, a community-wide effort to clean up the streets and areas of our beloved town.
So far the action has taken place in Maes y Dail, Maesyrhandir, Garth Owen, Vaynor & Trehafren with more taking place the rest of the week. As part of the scheme, the Town Council has placed a skip at Lon Derw, Trehafren from waste, although this cannot include liquids, paints, fridges or freezers, hazardous waste, or televisions.

In a social media post last night, the Town Council expressed their heartfelt gratitude to those who took part on Day 1. The remaining events for this week include:
Thursday 28th September 2023 - Treowen, Llanllwchaiarn & River Path
- Litter Picking at Treowen 10 - 11am - meet at Treowen School at 10am
- Litter Picking at Llanllwchaiarn / River Path - 12pm - 1pm - meet at Llanllwchaiarn church car park at 12pm.
Friday 29th September 2023 - Cae Cymric, Edwards Field, Commerical St & Crescent St
- Litter Picking at Cae Cymric, Edwards Field, Commerical St & Crescent St 10 - 11am - meet at All Saints Church at 10am
Saturday 30th September 2023 - Town Centre, Park & River Path
- Litter Picking Trail Competition
- Kids Eco Activities
- Sewing Workshop
- Meet at Hafan yr Afon between 10am and 1pm.
