In an effort to cultivate community spirit and spruce up the town for the upcoming summer season, Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council, in collaboration with local partners, has announced that the 2024 'Tidy Newtown' event will take place between 19th to the 23rd of March.

Local residents, schools, businesses, and community groups are encouraged to come together during this special week to participate in various clean-up activities aimed at enhancing the town's appearance and environmental health.
The town council is inviting all those interested to join in either the organised events or plan their own clean-up activities throughout the week.
The full list of events and activities are:
- Tuesday 19th March at 10am - Vaynor
- Wednesday 20th March at 10am - Trehafren
- Thursday 21st March at 10am - Maesyrhandir
- Thursday 21st March at 10am - Treowen
- Friday 22nd March at 10am - Town Centre
- Saturday 23rd March at 10am - Riverside and Parks (incl fun games, clothes exchange, seed swap and more)
The week will end with an event at Hafan yr Afon on Saturday 23rd March 2024 where a riverside litter hub will be established. Attendees can look forward to eco-friendly fun and games, a seed swap, clothes exchange, and other engaging activities.
All necessary equipment will be provided at the organised events.
