The Town Council has announced that it is flying the Pride Flag for the whole of February to support LGBT+ History Month.

Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is flying the Pride or Rainbow flag this month in support of LGBT+ History Month, to celebrate diversity within our communities.

    First celebrated in February 2005, LGBT+ History Month was founded in 2004 by Schools OUT co-chairs, Paul Patrick and Professor Emeritus Sue Sanders. The theme of 2023 History month is ‘Behind the Lens’. This year’s focus is the shine a light the industry, celebrating the contribution of LGBT+ peoples to cinema and film from behind the lens both past and present.
