First celebrated in February 2005, LGBT+ History Month was founded in 2004 by Schools OUT co-chairs, Paul Patrick and Professor Emeritus Sue Sanders. The theme of 2023 History month is ‘Behind the Lens’. This year’s focus is the shine a light the industry, celebrating the contribution of LGBT+ peoples to cinema and film from behind the lens both past and present.
