In a report to the Services committee of the Town Council, Open Newtown have explained that during surveys of trees done on Dolerwi Park, 3 large trees needs to be removed. 2 are due to being structurally unsound and 1 relating to disease.

The report goes on to say:
"The work on these three trees will be completed in early December. The footbridge will be closed for periods when the work is being carried out. There will also be large vehicles moving about the park takingmaterial away and there will inevitably be some collateral damage to some of the grassed areas.Green space users are requested to keep their dogs under close control when near the works to preventthemfrom entering the work area."
It is understood these trees are located near to the footbridge from Dolerw Park into the town.
