A local restaurant has recently received an improved food hygiene rating following a re-inspection.

Hummingbird Lounge, a popular dining spot in High Street , previously rated with a '2', achieved a higher rating after the re-inspection conducted on the 24th October 2024.

The new rating of '3' signifies that the establishment is now considered generally satisfactory in terms of food hygiene standards.

During the re-inspection, the food safety officer assessed various criteria. Hygienic food handling was found to be generally satisfactory, while cleanliness and the condition of facilities and the building were rated good. The management of food safety also met the generally satisfactory standard.

It is understood that the previous rating was influenced by circumstances coinciding with Hummingbird's partnership with Dozen & Dough. The partnership, which had been announced around that time, was short-lived and ended shortly after it had commenced.
