A total of seven applications to trader were recieved, but only four traders attended the event held on 23rd August 2022. The traders sold a range of items from wax melts, flowers, homeware, cakes and photographs.
Newtown Mayor, Cllr John Byrne attended the event and met with the young enterprenurs. In the report he said:
It was a pleasure to meet all the young traders involved in the Initiative during the day and appreciate all their hard work the young entrepreneurs have fresh ideas and provided forward thinking ideas to our weekly Tuesday market
The report also sets out improvements for the future, such as:
- Consider the option of charging £20.00 per stall via deposit as stall holders drop out at last minute this will help to cover operations team time on stall preparation.
- Consider Saturday market for young traders as traders have full time jobs in the week.
