A spokesperson for the League of Friends expressed concern, stating, "Unfortunately, our current Chairman has resigned and we have been unable to find new members or a new Chairman. Unless there are new volunteers joining, the Newtown Hospital League of Friends will have to be disbanded."
The group highlighted their pride in their achievements, particularly in recent years. Over the last seven years, from May 2017 onwards, the League of Friends has been able to supply equipment to all departments of the hospital totaling an impressive £86,752.
If anyone in the local community is interested in supporting this essential organization by becoming members or serving as Chairman, they are warmly encouraged to do so. Those interested can reach out to Joy Williams at 07890630389 or Peris Astley at 07812190229.
