A Newtown pensioner suffered a “blackout” in the lead-up to a collision on a busy Powys road.

The driver of the other vehicle that collided with 74-year-old Robert Shorter’s Vauxhall Zafira on the A489 at Penstrowed on May 15 last year had to be cut from the wreckage and suffered a fractured neck – he died the following month after an unrelated heart attack.
