The development, which continues on from the development built recently for Wales & West Housing Association for new social housing, includes an additional 14 houses in Garth Owen.

The developer has requested that the new development is called 'Ty Llywelyn', which would continue the naming convention of phase 1 of the development, which is called Hoel Gruffydd.

Both the phases of development are named after the former King of Powys and Gwynedd, Gruffydd ap Llywelyn.

Town councillors are a statutory consultee on street naming matters, with the final decision taken by Powys County Council.
