Town councillors to set to discuss a proposal by the County Council to name the new development at the Former Robert Owen House site.

When town councillors meet next week, they will have the chance to discuss and debate a proposed name for the new 32 affordable houses being built by Powys County Council on the site of the former Robert Owen House, near Trehafren.

A meeting of Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council to be held on 25/03/2024 at 18:30. Click here to join online.

The new development name is proposed to be called Clos Robert Owen.

According to the letter to the town council from Powys, the proposed name would retain the "historic connection" to the site.

The county council have asked the town council to support this name or put forward other suggestions.
