Newtown Post Office is preparing to shift its operations to a new location on Market Street later in March.
The decision to relocate follows a consultation held last year regarding the potential move to Market Street, prompted by the imminent expiration of the lease at the current Shortbridge Street premises.

From Wednesday, 26 March, the Post Office will commence services from 6 Market Street, the former establishment of Peter Jacks Family Butchers. Residents and visitors are advised that the final day of service at the existing branch on Shortbridge Street will be Thursday, 13 March, with doors closing at 5.30pm.
During the relocation period, customers are encouraged to utilize the alternative Post Office branches in Tregynon, located at The Garage, SY16 3EL, and Caersws, situated at The Cross, Station Road, SY17 5EQ.
The forthcoming location, presently undergoing renovations, will encompass a convenience store in conjunction with the Post Office. The branch will retain its existing array of postal products and services, under the supervision of the current postmaster.
The operating hours will remain consistent with the existing schedule: Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and Saturday from 9am to 12 noon. Additionally, the new branch will introduce three serving points, consisting of two conventional counters and an extra service point integrated within the retail counter.
