A local councillor has taken to social media to announce the return of the much-loved Kindness at Christmas event, scheduled for December 16th from 11am to 2pm.
The festive occasion aims to spread joy and generosity throughout the community, building on the success of last year's heartwarming gathering.

County Councillor Joy Jones, who spearheaded the event last year in collaboration with local organizations, expressed her excitement in a recent social media post:
"Would you like to see another KINDNESS AT CHRISTMAS ... If so save the date ... Dec 16th 11am until 2pm. We are working hard to bring it again this year and to get donations to share with everyone. There will be Freebies and fun .. More details soon ?"
Last year's event, organized by Cllr Joy Jones, Newtown Integrated Family Centre, Powys Youth Services, and supported by Newtown Together, was deemed a resounding success. The day was made even more magical with a gentle snowfall, creating a picturesque Christmas atmosphere in the park.
The event last year featured hot meals provided by the Rapid Relief Team along with local business Hummingbird who generously shared food with attendees. Businesses and individuals rallied behind the cause, responding enthusiastically to the call for donations.
Powys Youth Service played a pivotal role, organizing activities for young people to enjoy throughout the event. Even Santa took time out of his busy schedule to join the festivities, delighting children and families alike.
Details of this year's event are expected to be revealed soon, promising more freebies, fun, and, most importantly, the spirit of kindness that has come to define this cherished Newtown tradition. Stay tuned for updates as the community gears up for another heartwarming celebration of generosity and togetherness.
