Residents and visitors of Newtown are in for a treat this week as the timeless classic, Oliver! The Musical, is set to enchant audiences at the Theatre Hafren.

The Newtown Musical Theatre Company (NMTC) will grace the stage with their performance, bringing the magic of Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver Twist, to life.

The performances are scheduled for October 10th, 11th, and 12th at 7.30 PM, with a special matinee on Saturday, October 12th at 2.00 PM, featuring British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation for broader accessibility.

Featuring unforgettable songs like “Consider Yourself” and “Food, Glorious Food,” this musical promises to transport audiences of all ages to the captivating streets of Victorian London.

Adding to the charm of the production, pupils from four different local primary schools in Newtown will join the cast as the ‘Workhouse Children for various performances. The schools involved include Treowen Primary School, Ysgol Calon Y Dderwen, Penygloddfa C.P. School, and Ysgol Dafydd Llywd.
