Long standing market trader, Ruth, has been presented with gifts marking a significant milestone.
Well known market stall holder Ruth has been attending Newtown Market for 33 years. First established in Newtown Market on this date, 1st March, in 1990. Ruth began her stall on a basket table square in Newtown Market Hall.
When the market hall closed for refurbishment Ruth’s stall moved onto Broad Street where it has remained since. Ruth’s stall is always full of fantastic array of shrubs, plants and colourful seasonal flowers.
Lee Davies, Newtown Charter Market Manager, commented:
“Newtown Tuesday market wouldn’t be the same without Ruth with her plants and flowers. Ruth has shown loyalty and continuity to the community of Newtown. I encourage people to support Ruth and other market stall holders at Newtown’s Charter Market on Tuesdays”.
Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council presented Ruth with gifts to mark the milestone, congratulating the 33 years of Ruth’s Plant and Vegetable Market Stall in Newtown.
