Newtown's bustling High Street was infused with an air of excitement as it proudly hosted an exhibition of emerging entrepreneurs during the North Wales regional final of the Young Traders Event.

A range of products, ranging from delectable pastries and meticulously crafted wool items to aromatic candles and handcrafted gin, transformed the High Street into a vibrant marketplace that showcased the ingenuity of these aspiring business prodigies.

    The Young Traders Event served as an platform for these young business owners and creators to showcase their entrepreneurial skills and unleash their creative prowess.

    Hosted by Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council, the council extended it's heartfelt appreciation to every participant whose dedicated contributions played an instrumental role in the triumphant outcome of the event.

    The remarkable young traders who graced the event's landscape included:

    The event, which also celebrated the achievements of these entrepreneurs, featured a ceremony to honor standout performances in various categories:

    • Arts & Crafts: Winner - Nick Smart (Idris Emporium); Highly Commended - Chelsea Stringer (The Stringer Edit)
    • Food & Drink: Winner - Holly Challinor (Cheshire Botanicals)
    • General Retail: Winner - Abigail Proctor (Abi Through The Ears); Highly Commended - Danny Williams (Aroma Quartz)
    • Grocery: Winner - Leah Woodcock (Leah's Bakes); Highly Commended - Jazmin Gibson (Baked By Jaz)
    • North Wales Region Overall Winner: Abigail Proctor (Abi Through The Ears)

    The panel of judges included Nat Jenkins, Project Manager at Hilltop Honey, and Jackie Milton, Head of Operations at Robert Owen Community Banking.

    In a statement by the Town Council they said:

    "The Town Council applauds the visitors and residents who embraced the event, encouraging and nurturing the aspirations of our future business leaders."

    "Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council extends warm appreciation to Robert Owen Community Banking for their generous sponsorship of this event. The Town Council commends all participants for their dedication and enthusiasm, and anticipates even greater accomplishments in the journey ahead."
